Spirit Shrines Sanctuary

Sanctuary, on a personal level, is where we perform the job of taking care of our soul.

                              Christopher Forrest McDowell

I first started making these simple spirit shrines as a way to provide an elegant focal point for meditation. I often placed charged crystals or deity figures within the shrine to give them a home and purpose.  Later when I began selling them, many people also used them as a special home for pictures of loved ones or revered mementosWhatever you use them for, spirit shrines can add an element of elevation or sacredness to any space.

The spirit shrines vary in shape, color, and size but most are just under 12" in height.  They are constructed with craft wood and painted with non-toxic acrylic paints.  Some have fixed features such as plants or bells, and others may come with freestanding figurines which are included with the shrine but may be removed if you prefer.  These shrines are also very beautiful with a simple tea light to illuminate your spiritual journey.  However, I strongly recommend that you do not use real burning tea lights as they could present as a fire hazard; so please use battery-operated lights only.
